If you've ever wondered what it is that makes Farrow & Ball so special, you'll find the answers here. From our high-quality ingredients to our artisanal methods, our eco-friendly formulas to our sustainable practices, it's about so much more than just paint and paper.
Some forty years ago the inventor of the Everhot, Ossie Goring, wanted a heat storage range that would provide some background warmth to his kitchen and that would also have a very low requirement for energy (without the ‘spikes' that normally occur when switching on an electric oven or ring).
He hence set about inventing the Everhot, and for the first ten years following this, the Everhot was sold in small quantities whilst gently evolving prior to its full commercial launch in 1995.
Whilst the first cooker ever produced is still in daily use, the evolution continues and our philosophy remains unchanged.
We are constantly seeking to improve the Everhot without ever compromising on quality.
How it all began
Although proud to be Dutch and still calling The Netherlands home, Founders Ris and Eric's creative life started in England making bespoke, high quality Oak furniture. During their woodworking practice, they were already creating special paint techniques on furniture but also on their own walls and ceilings; quickly realising the paints out there at the time were not up to the task.
